A 16-years old teenager from Japan has been charged for attacking websites of 444 schools, in order to “remind teachers they are competent.”

According to Telegraph, the teenager initiated a cyber attack against the Osaka Board of Education by hacking into its server, result in closing down of hundreds of school websites across the region.

The incident that is the first of its kind took place in November last year, reportedly first cyber attack against a local government institute in Japan, according to Sankei West News.

“I hate how the teachers talk down to us and never let us express ourselves,” the teenager told police, as per Rocket News. “So, I thought I would remind them of their own incompetence. It felt good to see them have problems. I did it several times.”

Following investigation by the authorities, the boy has since been arrested and charged in relation to obstruction of business, while the boy’s computer and books on hacking have been confiscated by the police.

Punishments for such a crime in Japan include a maximum three-year-prison sentence or a fine of 500,000 yen. However, according to reports leniency is expected due to the hacker age.
